Bright Beginnings

Every child deserves to feel confident on the first day of school. Many kids in our community don’t have the proper clothes or school supplies – but you can help. YMCA Bright Beginnings takes children in need back to school shopping with community volunteers.

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy Program is just one of the many ways the Y intentionally lives out our mission. Our Chaplains demonstrate the love of Jesus through serving, loving and caring for the staff, members and guests of the YMCA through faith-based programming or just a listening ear and an encouraging word.

Facility Rentals

The Y can be more than a place for wellness, youth sports, and several other programs. The Y can be a place to host special events and programs for families and other community organizations.

Literacy

YMCA Literacy works to strengthen our community by training volunteer tutors to instruct adults in an individualized, 40+ hour literacy program. Volunteer tutors and paid instructors serve around 200 adult learners per year in one of two programs: Adult Reading and English as a Second Language.

From half marathons in the winter and 5Ks through muddy terrain, to bringing people together to connect on a spiritual level, the Y has several events that brings our mission and values to the community.

Bridge Academy

The Bridge Academy is an initiative of the Statesville Family YMCA that provides support services to students in the Iredell-Statesville School (ISS) District whose families have been displaced by homelessness. The Y will provide these youth and their families with After School Academy and Summer Day Camp and more.

Several of our branches host programs to serve local families and children, giving parents the opportunity to experience the joys and excitement of holiday shopping for their families without the financial stress.
