Take Your Shot With Winter Basketball

At the Y, we teach young athletes more than just the fundamentals of sports. Our staff and volunteer coaches demonstrate what good sportsmanship and teamwork looks like. Our Winter Basketball League (ages 5+) and Parent and Me Rookie Basketball Academy (ages 3-4) are open for registration!

Strong Swimmers. Confident Kids.

The YMCA Swim Lesson Curriculum is a core group of aquatic skills every person needs to be safe around water. As the foundation of our program, these skills allow students to learn correct swim stroke techniques. Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety. Don't wait, start lessons today!

41st Annual Mistletoe Run

You are invited to the most wonderful run of the year! Join us for our 41st annual event on December 7. In addition to our updated and improved half marathon, 5K and 1 mile Fun Run course, we will have bounce houses, music, cheerleaders, community mascots, donuts at the finish line, & more! Mistletoe Run is presented by Bell Davis and Pitt and proud to be the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina's largest fundraiser!

Community Impact

We're proud to serve the people of Northwest North Carolina. In 2023, we launched new community programs, invested in our facilities and equipment, and continued to demonstrate that the Y is a safe place for all to focus on their health — spiritually, mentally and physically.

How Can You Help?

The YMCA has a mission of helping all people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body. We also strive to turn no one away due to an inability to pay a program or membership fee. Our goal is to serve as many people in the community as possible that can benefit from our services. We can’t do that without your help.

Our Mission:

"Helping all people reach their God-given

potential in spirit, mind and body."
