Caring For Our Community
The Chaplaincy Program is just one of the many ways the Y intentionally lives out our mission. Our Chaplains demonstrate the love of Jesus through serving, loving and caring for the staff, members and guests of the YMCA through faith-based programming or just a listening ear and an encouraging word.
Our mission here at the Y states that this is a place for all people to reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body. This Chaplaincy Program ensures that we can focus even more so on the spirit and mind.
The Chaplaincy Program is composed of volunteers, who will be available at posted times at various Y branches. Branches with volunteer chaplains include Davie, Jerry Long, Kernersville, Robinhood Road, Stokes, William G. White, Jr., Winston Lake and Yadkin Family YMCAs and YMCA Camp Hanes.
This program is open to all people, regardless of their faith or background.
The Y is currently seeking volunteers to join its Chaplaincy Program to help grow the program in the near future. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more or finding ways to support the Chaplaincy Program, please contact Luke Harris at l.harris@ymcanwnc.org.
Encouraging Words
Christian Leadership Conference
Our YMCA Christian Leadership Conference is held at YMCA Camp Hanes in King. It's a great event for all to learn how to increase the Christian mission at their Y, camp programs & in the community. It provides Y staff and volunteers with the tools they need as Y leaders and to connect with our community. Our goal is to provide a great experience that’s accessible for many Y staff and volunteers, so the cost for the weekend is only $35 per participant. Thank you to all who came in 2024 and we'll see you in 2025! Questions? Please contact clc@ymcanwnc.org.
Prayer Breakfasts
Thank you for joining us for our National Day of Prayer celebrations at local branches in Northwest North Carolina and we'll see you in 2025!
