Impact of the Kernersville Family YMCA

We served 280 participants in our Before and After School programs and distributed $67,000 in financial scholarships.

We provided new school supplies and clothing to 145 students in the Kernersville community. With a total program cost of $21,250 and 128 volunteers who played a crucial role in making this incredible community program a success for all of the students.

We awarded $118,709 in financial scholarships and currently have 8,920 members at the Kernersville Family YMCA.

We served 2,488 youth in our Overnight Camp and in our Day Camp programs this past summer at YMCA Camp Hanes! We provided $235,984 in financial assistance.

We served approximately 205 kids in our Summer Day Camp (K-5 and Teens) and distributed $15,880 in financial assistance.

In 2024, we have served 317 participants in our Evidence-based Health Intervention programs across the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. The Annual Impact Fund provided $44,400 for programs like LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA (a free 12-week program for cancer survivors and their families).

We served 55 teens from the Kernersville community in our Teen Referral Membership program. 741 teens across our Association are enrolled in this program for at-risk teens.

We served 919 kids in our swim lessons program and provided $864 in financial assistance.

280 volunteers serving 3,439 hours supported the Kernersville Family YMCA and the Kernersville community in 2024.

We served 153 participants in our Safety Around Water - a program that provides swim instruction and water safety to children from under-served communities at no cost.

We served 1,065 kids in our sports programs and awarded $508 in financial assistance.
