New Center Offers Teens a Safe Space for Support, Guidance, and Positive Activities
Winston-Salem, NC – November 4, 2024 - The William G. White, Jr. branch of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina is thrilled to announce a ten-year partnership with Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law, to create the Safe Sober Teen Center. This initiative establishes a unique space within the YMCA that provides critical after-school support for Winston-Salem teens. Currently serving over 125 students, the Safe Sober Teen Center offers middle and high school students a safe, nurturing environment where they can focus on academics, participate in enrichment programs, and enhance their mental and physical well-being.
YMCA of Northwest North Carolina President and CEO Darryl Head shared his appreciation for the collaboration, stating, “We are deeply grateful for Daggett Shuler’s commitment to our young people and to our community. Their support enables us to expand our reach and provide essential resources to help teens thrive during these developmental years. This partnership truly reflects our shared vision for a stronger, healthier Winston-Salem.”
The Teen Center is designed to be a vital support system for students during their formative years, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and guidance needed to thrive.
